Well...here we are at the finish line!! Last week...last chance to make your moves...I hope you have saved some good starts for this weekend. This is why I love Pay the Fan fantasy auto racing. We got a bunch of players not only vying for first prize, but shuffling for the rest of the spots as well. Good luck to all of you.
In the "A" group, I hope you saved a start or two for some Ford drivers this weekend, as I think this is the spot to plug in your 17, 99, or your 16 if you still have starts remaining for these guys. Fords have won 5...and that is not a typo....5 in a row here in Homestead. The Childress cars usually end the season on a strong note. So feel free to plug the 29, 31, or the 33 in there as well. The 11, 14, and 24 will be good starts if you have some of those left.
In the "B" group, keeping with the same theory that I have in the "A" group, this would be a good spot to plug in the 26, 6, and possibly the 98 could reap the points that you need. Although if you have saved some starts for the 9, 1, or the 07, this would be a good spot for those guys as well.
In the "C" group, Mr. Elliott is running this weekend so keep your eye on his times. The 44 is driving a Ford this weekend so he is a good possibility. Awesome Bill came out of here with a 12th place finish last year, and Mr. Allmendinger finished one spot ahead in 11th. Beyond those guys, I like Mr. Keselowski again. I like the 82 as well. Those guys should finish strong heading into next year.
Good luck everyone and I want to thank each and every one of you this year for making Pay the Fan your fantasy racing destination. We look forward to a bigger and better season next year, with some new games and new prizes. See you then!!

The final pit stop...Who is going to take the checkered flag? Will it be Mark n Brina from New Jersey? Will it be zig1820 from Asheboro, NC? Will it be The Captain from Lake Tahoe? Or is someone waiting outside of the top 3 just waiting for this weekend in order to make their move? Isn't fantasy auto racing great? There is any number of people who still have a chance at winning or moving up into the big money. Good luck...
In the first group this weekend, I am leaning toward the Childress cars and possibly a Ford driver this weekend. The 29 and 33 both ended up with top 5 finishes here last season, and the 31 is a threat for a top ten everywhere he goes. The 99 will probably be in one of my starting spots. If you have Kenseth or Biffle with starts left you can start those guys with few worries.
In the second group, I love the 1, 07 and the 9 here. All three of those drivers finished up with a top ten here last year, and I look for a repeat performance. The 26 and the 6 are possibilities. I am going to watch Mr. Gilliland and study his times here this weekend. He is a dark horse possibility.
In the last group, I like the 44, 47, and the 20. I know there are few of you who still have starts for those guys, so beyond that, I am leaning toward Bill Elliott, the 78, and possibly Mr. Eric Darnell. He is in the Hall of Fame Ford this weekend, and should be one to watch.
Well that's it for this season ladies and gentlemen. We really do appreciate your participation and helping to make Pay the Fan the number one fantasy sports website out there. It has been an exciting season and I look forward to seeing you all back here again for Daytona in 2010. Once again, good luck everyone, keep the hammer down, and I will see you at the track!!

And then there were two. Pay the Fan players, it has been a great season and I am sad to see it winding down so quickly. But somebody has to win this prize so we can do this all over again in 2010. Who will it be?
In the "A" group this weekend, this is a good spot to use the 14, 16, or 11 if you still have starts for those guys. I have a start left for the 14, so he will definitely be one of my plays. In the other spot, I am leaning toward using the 99 or the 31. The 33 is a possibility as well.
In the "B" group this weekend, if you still have starts for the 5 or the 2, what are you waiting for? Ha!! This is the place to use those guys. The 1, 00, and the 26 will run well. If you need to look a little deeper, watch the 6 and the 07.
In the "C" group, I am leaning toward the 77 and the 78. The 20, 43, and 47 should finish well, but if you are like me, those starts are long gone. The 55 and 82 are other possibilities.
Good luck everyone and make sure you tune in to ABC on Sunday at 2:30 EST.

"The long and winding road"...I believe that was a song by the Beatles, and that nothing can bring to mind this season any better than the title to that song. It has been a long season, but we have two more pit stops before we find out who wins this thing. Will it be you?
In the first group this weekend, this is empty your chamber time. Fire everything you got. No holds barred. If you have starts for the 48, 14, or the 11, cut them loose. I myself, do not. I am leaning toward a couple Childress teams here this weekend. Its looking like the 31 and the 29 will be in my lineup this weekend. I am going to save a Ford driver or two for next week in Homestead.
In the second group, you have probably exhausted your starts for the 2, 39, 5, and the 42. Beyond that, the 00, 83, and the 9 could help you. I am also going to keep an eye on Menard and Gilliland. They could get a quality finish or two.
In the last group, the 20, 47, and the 43 would be my top choices. Keselowski would be a good start here. Outside of those guys, I will be watching the 78 and the 55 to see how well they are running. This group could provide the biggest shakeup in the points this weekend.
Have a safe and fun weekend everyone and I will see you at the track!!

Three to go. These last three weeks are going to be nerve wracking and exciting for many of you. Let's see if we can provide a little help for some of you.
In the "A" group this week, I am going to be leaning toward the Ford drivers this week. I think if you have starts left for the 16, 17, or 99, this is a good spot to use them. Just make sure you have some starts left over for your Ford drivers for the year ending Homestead race. The Fords have won five in a row in Homestead. The 11 and 18 should finish well.
In the "B" group, I like the chances of the 00, 9, 5, and the 39. If you need to dig a little deeper like a lot of us, this should be a good spot for Bobby Labonte, David Ragan, and Casey Mears. Although these drivers have not had the stellar seasons the guys in the Chase have had, this track still sets up well for each one of them with their driving styles.
In the "C" group, in case any of you missed it, Mr. Keselowski has taken over for David Stremme and will drive these last three races. So I would definitely take a strong look at him if you have starts remaining. I also like the 20, 43, and the 47. Awesome Bill Elliott is entered into this race, so it would be worth your time to take a look at how he is running this weekend leading up to the race.
Have a great weekend everyone and make sure to tune into ABC at 2:30.

Hook 'em horns. I just love returning to Texas and this track. The people are great, the area is great, and they love their racing almost as much as they love their football. What's not to like?
In the first group this weekend, the 24 and 48 will of course be strong. I like the 17 and the 16 to run up front. The 33 and the 31 should be good to go at this track. But I think the 18 and the 11 could be a couple of the stronger cars here this weekend. Call it a hunch.
In the second group, if you are like me, you are out of starts for the 5, 42, 39, 2, 9, and some of the others. So that makes us study a little harder. I really like the 00, 07, and the 1 in this spot. These guys will bring home at least a top 20 for you this weekend. The 6 should be in for a good run. For my dark horse, make sure to keep an eye on David Gilliland who is running a car for Joe Gibbs this weekend. He could really surprise here.
In the last group, I will definitely be looking hard at Keselowski and the 20. Bill Elliott runs again this weekend, so he is a solid choice. For my dark horse out of this group, keep an eye on Mike Bliss. He finished a very respectable 24th at the last mile and a half track we visited in Charlotte.
That's all for this week folks. Be safe and I will see you at the track.

Hello everyone and welcome to the crapshoot. Between Talladega and Daytona, you could be sitting pretty with 3 laps to go, and it all turn upside down on you. Literally...But on the flip side, so to speak, you can think you are out of the running with 3 to go and find yourself grabbing checkers or a top five as well. You gotta love this place.
In the "A" group this weekend, I believe this is a good spot to plug in the 14, 11, or the 18 if you still have some starts remaining for those guys. If not, I am looking toward the 17, 99, and possibly the 31 to fill a spot.
In the "B" group, if you have starts remaining for the 42, 39, 2, or 83, this is a good spot to start those guys. If not, I believe the 1, 26, and the 07 could get you some quality points. My man Elliott in the 19 and Mr. Ragan in the 6 could get you a couple good finishes as well.
In the "C" group, I like the 43, 47, and the 44. But many of you do not have starts remaining for those guys, so here is what to look for. Mr. Keselowski is entered into this race, so he will definitely be one of my starters. He won last time we were here, and he seems to have a good handle on how to manage his time and tires to be there at the end. I also like the 82 in this spot. He had a top five the last time we were here, so he should be good to go.
But like I said before, any of these guys could get you checkers, or they just as easily could get you wreckers. That is why it is such a crapshoot. Be sure to tune in Sunday on ABC at 1:00. Have a great weekend.

Here we are back at the fastest track on our circuit. This is just pure adrenaline. You guys need to take advantage of DJ's racing adventure if you ever get the chance. I know they come down here to Talladega and you can drive or ride around this great track at speeds approaching 200 MPH. It really is awesome. On to this week.
In the first group this week, I really like the 11 and the 14. Beyond those guys I like the 88, 17, and the 33. I think the 88 runs well here this weekend. And the 17 always seems to arrive up front just in the nick of time at these superspeedways.
In the second group, the 5, 42, 39, and the 2 would be choices...if I had any starts left for those guys. And for that reason, I am looking at the 83, 1, 6, and my own 19 to get it done here this weekend.
In the last group, this is a critical week for these guys. You have the Aaron's 499 winner Mr. Keselowski back on the track, as well as Max Papis who finished a respectable 18th in that same race the last time we were here. Those two guys are definitely worth a look. I also think the 47, 82, and the 44 will run well. My dark horse is the 78, who had a 15th place finish last time we were here.
Good luck everyone and I will see you at the track.

"The Final Five"...does not have the same ring as say the "The Final Four", but it has the same importance for a good many of you who are in position for the big money. We are back at Martinsville this weekend for a short track tussle that is always fun.
In the "A" group this weekend, if you are holding on to those 48 or 24 starts, waiting to use them on a proverbial "rainy day", here is your spot. These guys are just always strong at this track, and "almost" guaranteed a great finish. But "almost" is the key word in the previous sentence. You never know at Martinsville if you may have a part fail or a tire go down, which would put you basically out of the running for a good finish. This "almost" may make you want to take a look at he 11, 14, and the 33 in this spot as well.
In the "B" group, I really like the 39, 42, and the 2. The 5 will be good. But if you are having to look a little deeper in the starts, the 26, 07, and the 1 deserve consideration.
In the "C" group, this is where the starts are getting really tight. I like the 43, 44, and the 47 here. But I really think this could be a good spot to plug in the 55 or Mr. Robby Gordon on Sunday.
Good luck everyone, have a great weekend, and make sure to tune into ABC on Sunday at 1:00.

Martinsville...This is basically my home track...not too far from the house. We are so close that we will probably be able to catch some of the Panthers game on Sunday after the race.
In the first group this weekend, you know the Hendrick cars are peaking and looking good. But if you did a little deeper, you can find some other worthy starters out of this group for the weekend. The 33 and the 11 run really well here. Tony is a short track master. The 17 and the 88 have looked a little stronger lately. And you can never really count out the 18. He looks to be feeling stronger after his recent illness.
In the second group, I like the 9, 2 and the 39. If you are out of starts for those guys, keep an eye on the 00 and the 26. They know how to get around this place.
In the last group, I will probably start some combination of a 43, 47, and a 55 and a 7. I may take a look at the 34 here this weekend. He could be a dark horse in this group.
Have a fun weekend everyone and I will see you at the track!!

Sure is good to be back home again. Especially for a Saturday night race. We have 6 races including this one to decide a champion. This is where it gets really fun.
In the "A" group this week, you really can't go wrong if you want to lean on the Hendrick teams this week. I mean they are so strong, the 24 and the 48 would be wise choices. But I really feel like the Roush cars will make a statement here this weekend. I look for the 99, 17, and the 16 to have strong runs and top ten finishes on Saturday night.
In the "B" group, I like the 9, 00, 83 and the 07. The 5 and the 2 will be strong, but starts for those guys may be dwindling. The 42 has really been strong at every track lately, so he would make a nice start as well.
In the "C" group, this is a good week to plug in Awesome Bill and Mr. Keselowski. I know a lot of you are getting tight on your "C" driver starts, so this is a perfect opportunity to get some quality points with those two drivers. Keselowski finished 13th and Mr. Elliott finished 19th just two weeks ago at Kansas, a track whose configuration is much like the one here this weekend.
That's all for this week ladies and gentlemen. Make sure to tune in Saturday night at 7:00 on ABC. This should be a good one.

Rain, rain, go away. I sure do hope this mess clears out by Saturday night. I can think of nothing that is worse than sitting around a wet race track, waiting for the rain to stop. But all signs do point to this clearing out and us being able to race.
In the first group this week, I like the 14, 11, and the 18. I think the 17 and 16 will be there in the end as well. And don't you guys think that picking the 48 and the 24 would just be too easy.
In the second group, I like the 39 and the 42. The 9 and the 00 should have good runs. The 83 always seems to get a good run at this track. I like the 07 and the 1 as my dark horses.
In the last group, I am probably going to start Keselowski and Elliott. They both had top 20 runs in Kansas, and should fair well again this weekend. The 47, 44, and the 77 are other possibilities.
Good luck everyone and have a safe weekend and make sure to remember to tune in on Saturday night. I'll see you at the track.

Back out on the West coast for our 30th race of the season and the 4th race in the Chase. One of the great things about coming out here are the absolutely amazing golf courses. Well enough about that let's talk some racing....
In the A group this week you might want to take a hard look at the Roush Fenway cars. They dominated this track when we were here in week 2 with the 17 capturing 1st and the 16 and 99 taking 4th and 9th. You can count on the 48 and the 24 to be strong as they always are here. There aren't any dark horses in this group - any of these guys can win on any track.
In the B group teammates 55 and 00 ran in the top 15 in the spring and they could get you some quality points on Sunday as well. I like the way the 44 has been running lately. The 6 car of Roush Fenway could prove to be a wise start at this track. But if I had a dark horse in this group I think it would be Mr. Labonte.
The C group is always a challenge. Great drivers but not always easy choices. I'm looking at the 12, the 47, and the 77 to be at the head of class this weekend. My dark horse pick from our C group is the 82 car.
That's it. Good luck to everyone this weekend - and yes a little luck never hurt anyone!
Check the race out on ABC this Sunday with coverage starting at 2:30 pm ET.

Well here we are late in the race season and getting ready to make left turns all day in California - that might be appropriate. Here's what you really want to know about the Pepsi 500 on Sunday...
In the A group you probably think I sound like a broken record when I say start the 48 or the 24 or both if you've got them. I don't see how you could go wrong with either of them. And while the season started with the 17 winning the first 2 races we know it hasn't been the season everyone thought would develop but heck I like him here and his teammates too - 99 and the 16. The 14 and the 18 will be up front and either of them could win the race.
Now let's look around and find some good starts in the B group. If you still have some starts left for my teammate in the 9 car then plug him in here on Sunday. Still got room for the 2 car? Put him in your lineup. And you can't go wrong with any of these - the 5, the 39, the 42. A sneaky pick that could get you some good points is the 00.
Time to dig into the C group. This is never easy but can get you that winning check from PTF. My two C picks will come from this combination of drivers - 47, 43, 44, 20, or 12. I think you should also take a close look at the 55 on Sunday.
I'm done. This game really makes you think and challenges even the hard core race fan. Good luck and anytime you're at the track stop by and say hello.

Kansas City. This is such a great city and track. The barbecue is great, people are great, and they love their racing. I think we are due for another great race on Sunday.
In the "A" group this week, I really like how the 48 is making his normal charge here at the end of the season. He is the defending champion at this race and also led the most laps here last year. So if you have a start remaining for Double J, you might want to play that card. I also like the 99, 16, and the 17 to make a little noise here this weekend. All three of those guys had top 5 finishes at this track last year. I like the 29 in this spot as well.
In the "B" group, the 2, 5, and the 42 have been nothing short of impressive. Those guys are looking like they will be strong at all tracks throughout the rest of the season. But if you need to dig a little deeper in this group, I feel the 9, 39, and the 07 will get you good finishes. My man Elliott in the 19 should get you a quality finish as well.
In the "C" group, I know some of you guys may need to steal a couple of quality starts out of some guys that are not regulars week in and week out. Well this is your week. Mr. Keselowski is entered this weekend as is one Mr. Bill Elliott. Both of these guys are capable and should have the equipment to get some quality points here this weekend. The 44 and 47 should be there at the end.
Good luck everyone and make sure you tune in to ABC for this weekend's coverage.
