Good morning everyone and welcome again to Martinsville. I hope everyone has looked at the weather forecast, but if you have not, let me tell you that we are expecting rain for a big portion of the weekend. So keep that in mind when picking your teams. There may be no qualifying or not a lot of practice speeds to go on leading into Sunday.
With that stated, in the "A" group this weekend I really like the 24 car and his chances to win. If qualifying is rained out, he starts on the pole, and that could mean trouble for the rest of the field. The 48, 11, and the 18 should be strong starts again. The 18 did struggle here last year, but wound up with a couple top 5's in '07.
In the "B" group, I like the 26, 6, and possibly the 5. The 83 should fare well. The 42 is definitely my dark horse out of this bunch. He is a heck of a short track driver with a 13th and a 14th place finish here last year.
In the "C" group, man was I impressed with the finish the 47 had last weekend. He stayed out of trouble for most of the day, and came away from Bristol with a top 10. If it rains out qualifying this weekend, he will have a decent enough starting position to be able to move up and get some quality points for you. I am equally impressed with the way the 12 has been driving, and since my son Jason is spotting for him, I got an extra reason to pull for him!! The 44 and 43 should have a good day here as well.
