Dale’s Week 18 Advice - “I am 90% sure I will start the 20 and the 18”
Posted By: Dale Jarrett
Hello everyone and welcome to partly sunny Daytona. We have seen a couple of showers down here this week, but hopefully that will not be the case Saturday night. I feel very fortunate to be the grand marshal here at the Coke Zero 400 courtesy of my great friends and great relationship with Coca-Cola. I look forward to giving the command. Well, I had an awful week last weekend with my picks. Let's make it up on Saturday night.
In the "A" group this week, make no bones about it, I am 90% sure I will start the 20 and the 18. That may be the case with a lot of you out there and for good reason. These guys have been really strong at the two restrictor plate tracks this year. Heck, the 20 is a force at these tracks every year and he is way overdue for a win. As you all know, the plate tracks are a crap shoot and that's precisely why the fans love them. So if you are looking to save those two for another day, take a good look at last week's winner. The Dodges run well at the plate tracks, and the 2 should be good here again. I like the Childress camp here again this weekend. This could be a good spot for the 31 or the 07.
In the "B" group this week, I am looking at the Dodge camp mostly here. I like the 9, my good buddy in the 19, the 12, 41, 43, and for a dark horse, take a look at the 7. The other Mr. Gordon runs extremely well at these tracks.
In the "C" group this week, I like the 83 and the 28. The 66 should run fairly well along with the 15.
Good luck everyone, have a great Fourth of July, and let me get one practice in here before Saturday night.. "Gentlemen... and Big Johnny, start... your... engines!!!" Just joshing you Big J.
