Bradshaw’s Blog - Week 2

Posted By: Terry Bradshaw

DEFENSE
Picking a solid defense should be pretty easy for Week 2. Focus on the consistent performers, such as Chicago, San Diego, New England. Green Bay surprised Philly and a lot of other experts during Week 1. The Packers might be a nice sleeper pick this week against the ailing Giants.

WIDE RECEIVER
The key to finding the right receiver for your lineup is to focus on the teams with a throwing mindset - New England, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Detroit. These are the teams that give your receivers the best chances to make plays. Will Moss have a repeat performance in Week 2? Maybe not as they face the Chargers. Boldin and Fitzgerald should make some noise in Arizona as they are playing at home this week. Santonio Holmes was a nice sleeper pick last week and is a player on the rise in Pittsburgh. You know Kitna is going to throw the ball a lot vs. the Vikings so look for another big day from rookie Calvin Johnson and Pro Bowler Roy Williams.

RUNNING BACKS
San Diego is traveling to New England for the big Sunday night showdown so this might not be the best week to start last year's MVP LaDainian Tomlinson. Benson might seem like the safe play for Chicago vs. Kansas City, but I'd wait until Benson shows a little more life before giving him the start. Expect big things from Joe Addai this week as defenses must respect the pass against Indy. Frank Gore is showing more and more that he's the real deal in San Fran.

QUARTERBACKS
Traveling can wear you down in this league so I'd be careful about expecting another big game from the Romo and the Cowboys who visit Miami this week. Outside of LT and Gates, who's going to step up for Phillip Rivers and the Chargers as a "go to" receiver?

OVERALL
One week does not make a season so don't turn your back on your "go to" guys. Barring injury, you can always expect big things from Manning, Brady, LT and Steven Jackson. Look for a nice rebound game from him as the Rams play at home vs. the 49ers.

Good luck this week,

TB
